Judy On the Issues
One of the country’s leading health care experts, Judy Feder is a public servant, scholar and independent advocate for American families.
She’s all the things Congress should be, but isn’t.
Getting something done on health care
Judy Feder knows we need affordable health care for all Americans. A nationally recognized health care expert, she's been a leader in that fight for years. In Congress, she will put her expertise and experience to work to make it happen.
Judy's plan for health reform will guarantee universal coverage with:
- Access for everyone to the full range of benefits provided to Members of Congress.
- A choice of plans allowing you to keep your existing plan or enroll in a new plan.
- Portable coverage even if you lose your job.
- Rules that prohibit discrimination based on age or pre-existing conditions.
- Affordable premiums and out of pocket payments with subsidies for families who need assistance.
- An end to the spiral in health care costs by investing in prevention, management of chronic disease, 21st century information technology, and research on effective treatment to make sure to get us value for the dollar.
Getting something done on Iraq
Too many of our brave service members and too many military families are paying the ultimate price for George Bush's war in Iraq, and we need to bring them home. The rest of us are paying a pretty high price, too. Every year, with the money spent on this foreign policy disaster, we could have insured nearly 40 million Americans. Or, we could have redone every road in the country, alleviating our traffic crisis. For years, Judy Feder has worked with the Pentagon to train battle-tested soldiers. In Congress, she will work with our military leadership to bring our troops home while restoring our security at home and abroad.
Getting something done on transportation
While Congress has been stuck in neutral, we've been stuck in traffic. We need better infrastructure, smarter growth, and rail extended to Dulles. Judy Feder will
get in gear and tackle transportation with the policy know-how that has won her the respect of colleagues around the world.
