McLean, VA - Lowell Feld, the Raising Kaine blogger who co-founded the Draft James Webb movement and served as the Webb campaign's netroots coordinator in its upset victory over George Allen last year, has joined Judy Feder's campaign against 27-year incumbent Rep. Frank Wolf. One of Feld's first jobs will be to run a new blog, www.FarewellFrank.com [1], which the Feder campaign officially launches today. The blog will let voters know who the real Frank Wolf is, and what his real record in Congress has been the past 27 years.
"We face many of the same challenges Sen. Webb did when he launched his campaign last winter, and an aggressive netroots strategy was key to his victory " said Feder's campaign manager, Luke McFarland. "Like George Allen, Frank Wolf is a long-time incumbent who has become comfortable with the perks of life in Congress. Over the years, Virginia's 10th District has changed dramatically, but Frank Wolf has not changed along with it. For instance, Wolf is not the moderate he claims to be on issues ranging from President Bush's failed policies on Iraq to stem cell research. Farewell Frank will help expose Wolf's true record, while taking the case for change directly to voters, through the internet."
Today's post on Farewell Frank exemplifies the work that Feld and other contributors to the blog will be doing in the coming months. Yesterday, a group of 10th District citizens held a town hall meeting on the situation in Iraq. But Wolf, who has voted against every effort to bring an end to the war, refused to show up and listen to what his constituents have to say.
"I worked hard for Judy Feder in 2006 in her struggle against an entrenched incumbent, and I plan to do the same this time around." said Lowell Feld. "Judy Feder is fighting to end the war in Iraq and to bring honest leadership to Washington, for a change. In November 2008, voters of the 10th District will have the opportunity to replace someone in lockstep with Bush's failed policies with a Congresswoman who is capable of thinking for herself. This is an objective that everyone -- Democrats, Independents, and moderate Republicans - can strongly support."
