McLean, VA - In an indication that Judy Feder will mount an even stronger challenge against 14-term incumbent Rep. Frank Wolf in 2008, her campaign today revealed that she raised over $111,000 in the month since she signaled her intention to run. Feder, who will formally announce her candidacy later this year, earned national attention in 2006 by giving Wolf his most competitive race in 24 years.
"This support reflects that Frank Wolf has once again failed to deliver the clear leadership Virginians deserve, especially on ending the war in Iraq" said Feder, who is Dean of Georgetown University's Public Policy Institute. "We need a representative who will stand up to the President, not one who mistakenly believes that the President will see the light and change course."
Feder cut Frank Wolf's margin in half in 2006, even though she entered the race only 10 months before Election Day. Her strong, early start this time around gives her twice us much time to mount a vigorous grassroots campaign in this rapidly changing district.
